Disney Parks Pin Releases for the Week of July 8th-July 14th

After several active weeks of pin releases at Disneyland and California Adventure, this week there is but one new release on July 11th. But this is no ordinary release. Movie Milestones is a quarterly series from Disney that celebrates great Disney motion pictures. The pins feature a swinging hinge, representing an awards envelope that reveals a page with the winning entry on the inside.  A very creative concept!

This quarter’s release is a classic, representing one of the all-time greats, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

2013 Movie Milestones- Beauty and the Beast

This pin is limited to 2000 and will be released into circulation starting July 11th.

If you like this pin and would like to play catch-up with the entire series, here are the first two quarterly pins:

Movie Milestones – Steamboat Willie

Disney kicked off Movie Milestones in January with this fantastic, classic Steamboat Willie pin.

Steamboat Willie can likely be viewed as the launching pad for Disney. This eight minute cartoon was released on November 18th, 1928 and was wildly successful due to being the first cartoon to mix sound with picture. This was Mickey’s second feature after May 1928’s Plane Crazy, which was a less well-received silent feature.

Being a collector of Pie-Eyed Mickeys, this pin is definitely in my wheelhouse and on my watch list!

Movie Milestones – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

In April, the second pin of this series was released celebrating Walt Disney’s first first full-length Disney movie. Check out this site for some odd, interesting facts about this 1937 release.

Which fantastic Disney movie will be represented in quarter four?  We’ll know in October, so stay tuned!

Which movie would you like to see celebrated?
